Searchius is a hybrid P2P tool that collects URLs from end users
and organizes them and their structures in suitable for general web searching formats.
Searchius order results based on the collective preference of end users towards web pages.
Searchius is based on the following ideas:
- Humans act as small crawlers, following links and storing interesting pages
- Humans, unlike crawlers, collect only a small amount of urls that are of high quality
- Users usually organize bookmarks into folders. A folder name can be viewed as a semantic tag over its data
- When a user stores a url it actually gives a positive vote to this url. Then, in order to return valuable info we can
simple aggregate users votings over urls
- This methodology is fast, simple, it returns high accuracy results, it does not need expensive infrastructure and it is updated in an ad-hoc manner
